Sennheiser has launched the Momentum 5 Wireless headphones, the successor to its popular Momentum 4 model released nearly four years ago. While the design remains nearly identical, the internal upgrades focus on enhanced audio quality and active noise cancellation (ANC). The new model features Hi-Res Audio certification, Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless support, and compatibility with Sennheiser’s BTD 700 lossless Bluetooth dongle. An 8-band EQ and sound personalization are now available via the Smart Control Plus app.

ANC performance is improved with four microphones per ear cup—double the previous count—promising up to three times better reduction of human voice noise and clearer call quality. The headphones ship with Bluetooth 5.4 but are designed for Bluetooth 6.0, with firmware updates set to deliver Dolby Atmos with head tracking at launch. A day-one update will enable this immersive audio experience for compatible content.

Battery life is rated at 57 hours with ANC enabled, slightly less than the Momentum 4’s 60 hours, but still among the longest in its class. A five-minute quick charge delivers three hours of playback, and the 700mAh battery is user-replaceable with just a Phillips-head screwdriver. The Momentum 5 Wireless will be available starting June 16 in black, white, and blue for $400—$50 more than its predecessor.
