ASUS has announced the ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2026), a high-performance gaming laptop featuring the world’s first 4K 240Hz Mini LED display. The 18-inch Nebula HDR panel delivers 3840×2400 resolution, 1,600 nits peak brightness in HDR, and over 2,000 local dimming zones for deep blacks and precise contrast control. It also supports Dolby Vision, Pantone color accuracy, and VESA True Black 1000 certification, setting a new bar for mobile gaming visuals.

Under the hood, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPU with 24 cores and 32 threads, paired with up to an NVIDIA RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. Total system power reaches 320W—65W higher than the 2025 model—requiring a 450W power adapter. The system supports up to 128GB DDR5-6400 RAM and 8TB of PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage in RAID 0, making it a top-tier machine for demanding workloads.

Cooling has been enhanced with a 20% thicker vapor chamber, three high-flow fans, and improved internal airflow to keep components cooler. The laptop includes Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 5, and tool-free access for RAM and SSD upgrades. It is set for global release in Q2 2026, with pricing expected to exceed the 2025 model’s $6,299 starting point.
