iRacing has launched on Apple Vision Pro, bringing its immersive racing simulator to the augmented reality headset through the new iRacing Connect app. The release follows its March announcement and marks one of the first major gaming integrations for Vision Pro. However, access is limited by demanding hardware requirements. Users need Vision Pro running visionOS 26.4 or later, a Wi-Fi 6+ router with over 1000Mbps throughput, and a PC equipped with at least an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti or 5070 Ti graphics card. These specs ensure smooth streaming but may be cost-prohibitive for many fans. The app enables immersive features like hand tracking and physical steering wheel alignment, showcasing Vision Pro’s potential beyond novelty use cases. For the headset to move beyond its current perception as a high-end prototype, more integrations like this will be essential.
