The series has received a straight-to-series order from ABC and is scheduled to debut in midseason 2027. Ellen Pompeo, a longtime star of Grey’s Anatomy, also serves as an executive producer.

Meg Marinis, who grew up in Houston and graduated from the University of Texas, brings personal ties to the state, though the setting shifts away from urban medical centers to the stark realities of rural healthcare. The project joins a wave of Texas-set productions, though this one aims to blend the emotional depth of Grey’s with the isolated intensity of frontier medicine.
