Ukrainian drone operators from the 1st Azov Corps significantly impacted the multinational military exercise Aurora 2026 in Sweden, demonstrating advanced tactics that forced organizers to revise training scenarios. Drawing on real combat experience from the war in Ukraine, FPV (first-person view) drone pilots from the Bureviy and Liubart brigades participated as simulated adversaries, successfully breaching Swedish airfield defenses in under 20 minutes without losing a single drone and destroying all assigned targets.

During another phase, they detected and eliminated 28 simulated enemy equipment units before main forces engaged. On the island of Gotland, the Ukrainian team was the only one to successfully strike a target and livestream the attack for观摩 attendees. Their performance highlighted the growing dominance of low-cost, high-precision drone warfare in modern combat.

Beyond direct operations, Azov Corps personnel conducted training briefings for Swedish, French, British, and Dutch forces on UAV coordination and electronic warfare resilience. The Swedish Armed Forces acknowledged the practical value of Ukraine’s frontline expertise, noting that the participation enhanced realism and provided actionable insights for allied defense planning.
